As Balarāma rests, Nārada, fond of quarrels, arrives and tells him what is up at Kuruksetra. Balarāam descends (avatīrya) via Plaksaprasravana (53.33), sees and lauds the Sarasvatī, and quickly gets to the battlefield by chariot (!) (53.36–37).
